Description
Black Buck One was the longest distance bombing operation flown in history, covering a distance of 8,000 miles by the crew of Vulcan XM607 to successfully bomb the runway at Port Stanley Airfield. It would be Britain’s opening strike against Argentina’s occupation of the British Falklands Islands on April 2nd 1982.
Here depicting the last of the Victor air to air refueling operations in a violent electrical storm the crews had to battle through, just 2 hours from the target at Port Stanley airfield.
